Relocating. Moving Up. Downsizing. Moving On …

Towns & Neighborhoods

Making the right decision about real estate is not all about choosing, or building, or deciding upon the right price for a house. Getting a feel for the “sense of place” for the town — or lakeside or countryside — to which you are considering moving is a critical part of finding your perfect place in Northwestern Vermont.

From the shores of Lake Champlain, the “sixth Great Lake;” to the peaks and ski-slopes of the Green Mountains; to one of the nation’s most acclaimed “small city” downtowns in Burlington, the business, cultural and entertainment hub of the Champlain Valley (and a great college town with five college campuses in or just outside of town!), you face myriad wonderful choices for location, setting, convenience, or solitude.

While I am building this page to provide you with a feel for each of those opportunities, I want to be sure you have some information resources to help you develop a “sense of direction” to help bring you closest to your ideal spot.  If you are moving to Vermont, click here to access my company’s excellent relocation resources.

Meanwhile, watch for more information, coming here soon, about highlights of the area, and developing your sense for what it feels like to live here.

If you are visiting the area to size up the housing market, be sure to call me so that we can arrange a time to meet and potentially tour neighborhoods to see how they relate to the attractions, schools, outdoors resources, and shopping or recreational opportunities that are most important to you. You can reach me at eileen@hickokandboardman.com or call me at 802-846-9552 anytime to set out on your path to discovery.
