Relocating. Moving Up. Downsizing. Moving On …

Shelburne

Vermonters and newcomers alike cherish  Shelburne for so many reasons: its quaint historic village minutes from Lake Champlain, with surrounding neighborhoods known for executive appeal and wholesome family lifestyles;  Shelburne Point, where lovely lakefront and lakeview parcels and homes both historic and new overlook some of the most breathtaking vistas around; and lush valleys, views of the Green Mountains, and well kept farms surrounding the center of town, where homes on acreage enjoy pastoral, mountain or lake views …and sometimes all three!

The jewel of the town is Shelburne Museum, created in 1947 by Electra Havemeyer Webb (who married into the Vanderbilt family). The Museum offers a remarkable collection of American folk art on display in houses, barns, a one room school house, light house, and a 220’ steamboat located on the gorgeous grounds.  Tourists and locals also love to visit Vermont Teddy Bear, Shelburne Vineyards, and breathtaking Shelburne Farms, where a functioning, “teaching” farm, seasonal concerts and a historic Inn and restaurant are enjoyed.  Shelburne households also enjoy free, private access to the town beach and playground and an enormously popular K-8 elementary school, which feeds into one of Vermont’s top-performing high schools.
